Affordable Makeup Favourites

Want to grab some new makeup but can’t afford it? Don’t worry, I got you covered.

Obviously, I know what it’s like to be a broke b**** – like, I love makeup, duh. I’ve even maxed out my AfterPay account and was banned from using it because I spent so much money on it, buying makeup. It’s an addiction, and I totally understand what you’re going through with wanting to splurge on some new purchases. So, for all of you who don’t have a lot of money to spend on makeup but really need something new to add to your collection (I mean, replace from your collection, you know, because you used it all)… then this is for you.

Here are some of my favourite products that I find amazing, but don’t hurt your bank account too much.

Sephora Collection, Teint Infusion Ethereal Natural Finish Foundation – $23.00
I really like this foundation, and for the price, it works pretty well. It’s lightweight and you can build up the coverage, which makes it a perfect all rounder from winter to summer. I found it to be somewhat hydrating, which is always a plus when it comes to foundation, because we don’t want to end up with gross, cakey looking foundation slathered on our faces. The only downside is that the shade range isn’t that great, and because I have fairly light skin, I had to get some lightening drops to add into it.

Crush Cosmetics, 35O Eyeshadow Palette – $31.00
Now, if you’re a sucker for neutral coloured eyeshadow, like I am… Then this is perfect for you. Not only is this brand a perfect dupe for Morphe eyeshadows, but the quality is just as good as Morphe. The colours are extremely blendable and buildable, they’re super nice to work with and it doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg.

E.L.F, Highlighting Pearl Paint – $12.00
Oh my goodness. I remember when I first got this product on sale for a banging $1.00 – it was a dream and I didn’t want to wake up. This highlight is so unreal, I literally used it over my whole body and even forced my partner to let me put it on his face. It’s glowy, super buildable, easy to apply and it smells good. It’s also really cheap. One of my favourites, hands down. It comes in two shades at Kmart, Moonbeam and Pink Lady.

Maybelline, Lash Sensational Mascara – $21.95
Thankfully, this mascara is almost always on sale. Wether you get it from Kmart, Safeway, Coles or Chemist Warehouse… You’ll most likely always get it for less than the retail price. This is my go-to mascara, it’s cheap, it doesn’t clump and it’s just really bloody great.

BH Cosmetics, 11 Piece Luxe Brush Set – $49.95
So, these aren’t going to really break your bank, but it definitely is an amazing investment if you’re looking for some super reliable makeup brushes. These were the first proper brushes I ever bought and that was about four years ago now. They’re still perfect and I prefer to use them over my Sigma brushes. Weird, right? They’re literally that amazing. The bullet brush used for your eyeshadow is quite literally my holy grail. I kid you not.

Designer Brands, Stick Foundation – $14.99
Now if you’re really looking for foundation on a budget that isn’t horrible quality, then this is a pretty rad find. The stick foundation is a bit thicker than liquid foundation but I find that it’s perfect for those who like to really build up their coverage. Put a flame to the foundation for a couple of seconds and then apply to your face, and bam, your foundation will glide right on and you can blend it until the cows come home. Again, the only downfall is the lack of shade range.

Australis, GRLBOSS Demi Matte Lip Cream – $14.95
If you’re looking for a great liquid lip that isn’t a million dollars, then this is a great product for you. These lipsticks are easy to apply, they’re demi-matte so they aren’t super drying on your lips and they have an amazing shade range. Some of these are my go-to colours and if these were discontinued, I would probably struggle to find an equally as great product to replace it.

W7, Prime Magic Primer – $2.50
Okay, I know what you’re thinking… $2.50?! Is this girl insane? It has to be a crap product! WRONG! This is one of my absolute favourite primers, and I have so many high end brand primers, and I still choose this one nine times out of ten. Why? Because it’s bloody amazing. It’s so silky to apply and it primes your skin so perfectly. Every single time I use it, my skin is super hydrated and my makeup applies flawlessly. You cannot go wrong with this primer.

Of course, there are so many products I could write down on this list, but these are pretty much the essentials and reasonably priced, so if you’re ever in need of a new foundation or lipstick, be sure to check a couple of these items out.

What are your affordable makeup favourites and why? I would love to know!

  • People will always try to bring you down when you’re a little bit successful. It bloody sucks that some people can’t celebrate each other’s growth and development... Instead they like to be nasty and let their jealousy shine through - what’s super important is to not let this affect you. Block, delete, ignore... do whatever it takes to replace the hate with positivity and keep being true to yourself ‼️ Makeup: @makeupby_clairemarie #helloebony
  • Be kind to your friends and strangers but be mindful of how much you’re really giving. Some may take advantage of the fact that your soul is kind and you will do anything to help... It can become exhausting and not only mentally but physically draining. It’s important to still be kind, but know when to say no ❤️ Bodysuit: @kmartaus • Makeup: @makeupby_clairemarie
  • I don’t know if you know this, or if you need a little reminder, but your uneven boobies are beautiful. Your chub is beautiful. Your stretch marks are beautiful. Your skin is beautiful. Your soul is beautiful. YOU are beautiful 💘 (Instagram deleted my last post, which was NOT breaking guidelines and I am very upset but I will not repost it as some childish people were clearly offended by it) Bralette: @kmartaus
  • Whilst my partner is sick, and I am looking after him, it’s also important I look after myself. Even if it’s in the smallest of ways. I put on a nice hydration face mask by @skinstitut and put on my favourite dressing gown and just relaxed whilst I had a spare couple of minutes ❤️ Don’t drown yourself with other tasks, take the time to look after yourself, even if it’s only for a minute. If you don’t, you’ll burn yourself out and feel even worse!
  • Its too hot today to even take photos, so have one from my camera roll that I took over last weekend. Again, with the bodysuit by @brasnthings so @anastasiabeverlyhills lipgloss 💫
  • Skincare is literally one of my favourite things. I LOVE face masks so much that I do them a minimum of twice a week 👏🏻 This mask I’m wearing is the blue clay mask by @lorealskin and it’s absolutely incredible. It helps my skin to clear breakouts and helps my skin glow 💫 What is YOUR fave skincare product?
  • WHO SAYS BIG GIRLS CANT BE HEALTHY?! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I live a very healthy lifestyle, even though I have multiple conditions that want it to be otherwise. I suffer with PCOS, an under active thyroid, iron deficiency, mental health problems and physical ailments such as scoliosis, flat back syndrome, knees that pop out all the time and old injuries from sport (that I had played my whole life basically) 😬 SO if you’re someone who thinks big girls arent healthy because we have rolls, then you’re an ignorant ass and need to have a reality check 🥰 Fat phobia isn’t cute and you gotta check yourself because you wreck yourself 👏🏻 thanks for coming to my TED talk 👋🏻 Active wear top and pants: @kmartaus
  • I love my tummy and I love my stretch marks. I think they’re both super cute and they make me, me 🤗 was inspired to show my fupa 💫
