Want to grab some new makeup but can’t afford it? Don’t worry, I got you covered.

Obviously, I know what it’s like to be a broke b**** – like, I love makeup, duh. I’ve even maxed out my AfterPay account and was banned from using it because I spent so much money on it, buying makeup. It’s an addiction, and I totally understand what you’re going through with wanting to splurge on some new purchases. So, for all of you who don’t have a lot of money to spend on makeup but really need something new to add to your collection (I mean, replace from your collection, you know, because you used it all)… then this is for you.

Here are some of my favourite products that I find amazing, but don’t hurt your bank account too much.

Sephora Collection, Teint Infusion Ethereal Natural Finish Foundation – $23.00

I really like this foundation, and for the price, it works pretty well. It’s lightweight and you can build up the coverage, which makes it a perfect all rounder from winter to summer. I found it to be somewhat hydrating, which is always a plus when it comes to foundation, because we don’t want to end up with gross, cakey looking foundation slathered on our faces. The only downside is that the shade range isn’t that great, and because I have fairly light skin, I had to get some lightening drops to add into it.

Crush Cosmetics, 35O Eyeshadow Palette – $31.00

Now, if you’re a sucker for neutral coloured eyeshadow, like I am… Then this is perfect for you. Not only is this brand a perfect dupe for Morphe eyeshadows, but the quality is just as good as Morphe. The colours are extremely blendable and buildable, they’re super nice to work with and it doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg.

E.L.F, Highlighting Pearl Paint – $12.00

Oh my goodness. I remember when I first got this product on sale for a banging $1.00 – it was a dream and I didn’t want to wake up. This highlight is so unreal, I literally used it over my whole body and even forced my partner to let me put it on his face. It’s glowy, super buildable, easy to apply and it smells good. It’s also really cheap. One of my favourites, hands down. It comes in two shades at Kmart, Moonbeam and Pink Lady.

Maybelline, Lash Sensational Mascara – $21.95

Thankfully, this mascara is almost always on sale. Wether you get it from Kmart, Safeway, Coles or Chemist Warehouse… You’ll most likely always get it for less than the retail price. This is my go-to mascara, it’s cheap, it doesn’t clump and it’s just really bloody great.

BH Cosmetics, 11 Piece Luxe Brush Set – $49.95

So, these aren’t going to really break your bank, but it definitely is an amazing investment if you’re looking for some super reliable makeup brushes. These were the first proper brushes I ever bought and that was about four years ago now. They’re still perfect and I prefer to use them over my Sigma brushes. Weird, right? They’re literally that amazing. The bullet brush used for your eyeshadow is quite literally my holy grail. I kid you not.

Designer Brands, Stick Foundation – $14.99

Now if you’re really looking for foundation on a budget that isn’t horrible quality, then this is a pretty rad find. The stick foundation is a bit thicker than liquid foundation but I find that it’s perfect for those who like to really build up their coverage. Put a flame to the foundation for a couple of seconds and then apply to your face, and bam, your foundation will glide right on and you can blend it until the cows come home. Again, the only downfall is the lack of shade range.

Australis, GRLBOSS Demi Matte Lip Cream – $14.95

If you’re looking for a great liquid lip that isn’t a million dollars, then this is a great product for you. These lipsticks are easy to apply, they’re demi-matte so they aren’t super drying on your lips and they have an amazing shade range. Some of these are my go-to colours and if these were discontinued, I would probably struggle to find an equally as great product to replace it.

W7, Prime Magic Primer – $2.50

Okay, I know what you’re thinking… $2.50?! Is this girl insane? It has to be a crap product! WRONG! This is one of my absolute favourite primers, and I have so many high end brand primers, and I still choose this one nine times out of ten. Why? Because it’s bloody amazing. It’s so silky to apply and it primes your skin so perfectly. Every single time I use it, my skin is super hydrated and my makeup applies flawlessly. You cannot go wrong with this primer.

Of course, there are so many products I could write down on this list, but these are pretty much the essentials and reasonably priced, so if you’re ever in need of a new foundation or lipstick, be sure to check a couple of these items out.

What are your affordable makeup favourites and why? I would love to know!

  • I have every right to wear a sexy body suit. I have every right to feel sexy. I have every right to love the skin I’m in. I have every right to be HAPPY 💫

  • Bedtime just got a whole lot better now that I have a mattress that allows me to sleep peacefully whilst my partner (and dogs!) tosses and turns beside me - it has zero partner disturbance, which means it absorbs the impact, resulting in an undisturbed sleep 💤 It’s great knowing that I can sleep through the night without waking up to my dogs walking around the bed trying to get comfortable 😂

Not only will I get a good nights sleep, the mattress comes with a full 10 year warranty incase anything happens to it. Isn’t @koala great?! 🐨

Head over to @koala and see their range of products, maybe even purchase a mattress for yourself with a cheeky discount code - use MATESWITHBO for 10% off anything 😁

  • Looking after yourself and practicing self care isn’t always running a bath and sitting in front of the TV. It can be anything that helps YOU - wether it be your feelings on the inside or your outer appearance!

Skincare is one of my favourite self care things to do. There is something so relaxing about chucking on a face mask and some moisturising products or even some spot treatments 🥰

What do you do to practice self care?
  • You can tan no matter what size you are 👏🏻 I’m a newbie tanner and have been lucky to find a size inclusive brand of tan.

A tan for EVERY body 🥰 @tantootie
  • I finally took the leap and got a @koala mattress, and I am so excited to finally have a mattress that won’t leave me with a sore back! It’s always been a huge issue for me as I suffer with scoliosis and flat back syndrome which left me really uncomfortable in the morning 😭

Not only is the Koala mattress 100% Australian made, they also adopt a REAL KOALA 🐨 with every single purchase of a mattress or bed base - which means you get a cute little koala toy and an official adoption certificate from the WWF!

I was lucky enough to be given a promotion code, so if you want a new mattress (that won’t leave you sore in the morning) and to adopt a cute little koala, head over to the @koala website and use my code MATESWITHBO for 10% off anything 🐨🥰 #sponsored #koalamattress #sleepwithkoala
  • Oh, my body offends you? That sounds like a personal problem 🤷🏻‍♀️ With THAT article making the rounds, we have to stand taller and stronger together, more than ever. Us larger people, we deserve love too. We deserve to workout, to be comfortable, to dress nicely, to do everything that a thinner person can do. We deserve it because we matter.

Big girls can do it too 🙌🏻
  • I used to hate wearing bodysuits. I have a weird hip dip that makes my stomach/hips look like a donut. I was also self conscious about that part of my body because it made wearing certain clothes hard to wear... it didn’t look cute 🤷🏻‍♀️but I have definitely learned in the past year that I can definitely wear what I want and that I should wear what I want. My partner loves me and gives me endless compliments so it makes my self love journey a lot easier 💜
