Want to grab some new makeup but can’t afford it? Don’t worry, I got you covered.

Obviously, I know what it’s like to be a broke b**** – like, I love makeup, duh. I’ve even maxed out my AfterPay account and was banned from using it because I spent so much money on it, buying makeup. It’s an addiction, and I totally understand what you’re going through with wanting to splurge on some new purchases. So, for all of you who don’t have a lot of money to spend on makeup but really need something new to add to your collection (I mean, replace from your collection, you know, because you used it all)… then this is for you.

Here are some of my favourite products that I find amazing, but don’t hurt your bank account too much.

Sephora Collection, Teint Infusion Ethereal Natural Finish Foundation – $23.00

I really like this foundation, and for the price, it works pretty well. It’s lightweight and you can build up the coverage, which makes it a perfect all rounder from winter to summer. I found it to be somewhat hydrating, which is always a plus when it comes to foundation, because we don’t want to end up with gross, cakey looking foundation slathered on our faces. The only downside is that the shade range isn’t that great, and because I have fairly light skin, I had to get some lightening drops to add into it.

Crush Cosmetics, 35O Eyeshadow Palette – $31.00

Now, if you’re a sucker for neutral coloured eyeshadow, like I am… Then this is perfect for you. Not only is this brand a perfect dupe for Morphe eyeshadows, but the quality is just as good as Morphe. The colours are extremely blendable and buildable, they’re super nice to work with and it doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg.

E.L.F, Highlighting Pearl Paint – $12.00

Oh my goodness. I remember when I first got this product on sale for a banging $1.00 – it was a dream and I didn’t want to wake up. This highlight is so unreal, I literally used it over my whole body and even forced my partner to let me put it on his face. It’s glowy, super buildable, easy to apply and it smells good. It’s also really cheap. One of my favourites, hands down. It comes in two shades at Kmart, Moonbeam and Pink Lady.

Maybelline, Lash Sensational Mascara – $21.95

Thankfully, this mascara is almost always on sale. Wether you get it from Kmart, Safeway, Coles or Chemist Warehouse… You’ll most likely always get it for less than the retail price. This is my go-to mascara, it’s cheap, it doesn’t clump and it’s just really bloody great.

BH Cosmetics, 11 Piece Luxe Brush Set – $49.95

So, these aren’t going to really break your bank, but it definitely is an amazing investment if you’re looking for some super reliable makeup brushes. These were the first proper brushes I ever bought and that was about four years ago now. They’re still perfect and I prefer to use them over my Sigma brushes. Weird, right? They’re literally that amazing. The bullet brush used for your eyeshadow is quite literally my holy grail. I kid you not.

Designer Brands, Stick Foundation – $14.99

Now if you’re really looking for foundation on a budget that isn’t horrible quality, then this is a pretty rad find. The stick foundation is a bit thicker than liquid foundation but I find that it’s perfect for those who like to really build up their coverage. Put a flame to the foundation for a couple of seconds and then apply to your face, and bam, your foundation will glide right on and you can blend it until the cows come home. Again, the only downfall is the lack of shade range.

Australis, GRLBOSS Demi Matte Lip Cream – $14.95

If you’re looking for a great liquid lip that isn’t a million dollars, then this is a great product for you. These lipsticks are easy to apply, they’re demi-matte so they aren’t super drying on your lips and they have an amazing shade range. Some of these are my go-to colours and if these were discontinued, I would probably struggle to find an equally as great product to replace it.

W7, Prime Magic Primer – $2.50

Okay, I know what you’re thinking… $2.50?! Is this girl insane? It has to be a crap product! WRONG! This is one of my absolute favourite primers, and I have so many high end brand primers, and I still choose this one nine times out of ten. Why? Because it’s bloody amazing. It’s so silky to apply and it primes your skin so perfectly. Every single time I use it, my skin is super hydrated and my makeup applies flawlessly. You cannot go wrong with this primer.

Of course, there are so many products I could write down on this list, but these are pretty much the essentials and reasonably priced, so if you’re ever in need of a new foundation or lipstick, be sure to check a couple of these items out.

What are your affordable makeup favourites and why? I would love to know!

  • Often people tend to ignore their own signs that their mental health is struggling. Why is that? Do we not want help or are we subconsciously trying to prove we are stronger than we actually are?

Either way, it’s important to take note of how you are doing. Check in on yourself. Be your own support. Listen to your mind and your body and take action when you notice yourself slipping.

I’m lucky to have my partner to pull me up on myself but when he doesn’t, I have to rely on myself to get a grip of what’s happening.

It’s okay to be struggling. It’s okay to need help and it’s definitely okay to not be okay all the time. Personally, I struggle with my mental health a lot... I have borderline personality disorder as well as chronic anxiety and depression. It’s definitely a tough road and I do slip up and fall into dark patterns, but what’s important is that I realise this instead of ignore it ❤️ Reach out when you need help. People would rather listen to you than see you in a casket.
  • HEY YOU!! Did you know you can wear a bikini to the beach... no matter your body type? Shocked? Well don’t be!

You have the right to wear what you like. No matter how big or small you are. Your body is glorious and you are allowed to show it!

All shapes and sizes are allowed to be comfortable in their own skin and go to the beach and be the mermaid they have always wanted to be 🧜🏻‍♀️🧜🏻‍♂️ Take up space, show your skin and #loveyourbeachbody 👊🏻🙌🏻 Photo by @_chloesmithphotography_
  • It’s always important to remember that as a human being, we deserve respect and to be treated equally. No matter what.

It doesn’t matter what your size, age, race, gender or sexuality is. We each deserve to be treated with respect and compassion as in the end, we are all the same.

Treat people with kindness and love. You never know what someone is going through or what they’ve been through in the past.
  • I just can’t get over how incredible @glaminatrix_cosmetics is. Truly an inspiring small business. From hand making every single product to watching her grow as a business is amazing 🥰

I’m wearing the Sandra Rose palette and I used the shades “Leaf”, “Vine” and “Botanical” 🌿

  • When I was younger I was always such a happy and carefree child. I remember I was never bothered about my appearance or how I looked... because I was a child.

Obviously that changed when I got to the end of primary school when people started noticing my weight. And then I entered high school and there was so much pressure and a lot of jabs and bullying from other people - I did ignore it but it was always there, deep down, destroying my self confidence. I’ll admit, on the outside, I didn’t care. I would dress how I want but then there would be small actions or words I would say that let the strong facade crack. I was miserable inside and by my mid to late teens, I hated myself completely. I was disgusting to myself and would hurt myself because I couldn’t change my appearance.

Fast forward to 18 and I got into my first serious relationship and now at 23, I have never been so sure or so confident in my skin. I had been deprived of the self love and loving comments for most of my life, and now I have this every day and I’m HAPPY 👏🏻 I had been given a support system to lean on that eventually, I learned to love myself for ME ❤️ What’s one thing you wish you could tell your younger self? Mine would be to keep doing you and not let the petty high school life get to you. You’re worth so much more than that.
  • “There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.” One of my favourite things about the internet and @instagram in general is that it gives everyone the opportunity to find and create new friendships. Friendships that mean something.

Our little #bopo family is so special to me. We are always there for each other and we understand each other. It’s so beautiful that we can come together and be there for the same reason, and create beautiful friendships from just coming together.

I’ll always stand with my #bopofamily forever and always. It’s something so close to my heart ❤️ Photography by @_chloesmithphotography_ for the #loveyourbeachbody shoot
